Breaking One of Dan's Rules...
Just to piss him off. Actually, no, this post is relevant. I've created a new blog, The Annex, as a companion of sorts to the Coalescent Musical Co-op. No doubt we are each going to have music related things we want to share that don't have anything to do with the current CMC selection. In fact this has already happened. Now we have a place for those posts. Let me know if everyone thinks this is a good idea, and I will send out the team invitations, or if no one is interested, I will delete the blog.
ps Has anyone else noticed that Blogger's spell check blows? It doesn't know "blog" or "Blogger," and when I typed "witht" it did not offer "with" as a suggestion.

I'm ok with the annex although I'm not sure compartmentalizing our blogging lives any more is a real benefit. It seems to me that CMC should be the repository for all thoughts musical, to hell with Dan and his rules.
As far as spellcheck goes, I am fortunate to be a good speller and rarely if ever use it. My most common errors are typing too fast and ending up withs paces in thew rong place.
Where the hell is Dan anyway? Still stuck in traffic on the way to Richfield?
Hard enough to make out the craggy spires of Barad-Dur from here, let alone Dan's slumped orcish form there-in.
I'm here. I'm not sure if I'm for the annex...Seems like it's no better to wade through tangental disarray in that forum than in this one.
You know-we're not looking to publish this shit in some sort of bound volume, so I could actually live with a "the hell with me & my rules," if need be. I certainly don't want to squelch musical discussion through fear of staying within a set of rigid guidelines.
I will say this, though: I think asking people to group all the songs together for commentary, rather than dribbling in bunches of two and three at a time is hardly an unreasonable request.
Actually I am kind of for keeping the posts here on the topic of the current installment. With a number of off-topic posts it can make things difficult when the first posts on the current volume aren't even on the front page.
I don't think that there would be enough content to "wade through" on a second blog, and it would make things easier here. I will leave it up to the majority. My vote is for the Annex, but against the shitty template it currently sports.
Fine-we can limit posts here, but now people can start saying, "to hell with Aaron & his rules!"
Hey, it was your rule, I was just agreeing with it.
Maybe we need a music Tsar or Czar? Just leave it here. Freakin' A. We collapsed Escalante because we can talk about it on our other blogs. I believe that it defeats the purpose. If there is a musical thing that you want to talk about and you don't want to put it on CMC, then put it on Oliopolis. I will go with whatever, but there goes my two cents.
Funny realization, Aaron created the Annex, not Dan. Forget all but the last sentence on my previous comment.
