Man the Swirl of Color

Wash you face in the basin I made for you
(it’s cooked clay modeled on a wheel).
Where are the crude little postcards that I drew
and the imaginary map?

My credit at the craft store is running out
and I’m running out of paint.
There is a scent to the cans and it’s spilling out
all over walls, and in the drain.

I don’t think you think about me

Through the lenses of lonely girls
who man the swirl of color
there’s a winter, that you will see,
is warmer than the summer.

Move your eyes to the play pit for you
I drew a lake, it’s right below your steak.
And all the sick nights I turned out all the lights
are coming back

I don’t think you think about me
